Whole Goods Registration File

The Whole Goods Registration files record Registered Whole Goods information and are organized in a way that allows considerable flexibility and adaptation. The information contained in this section is expected to be used only by advanced users who have a considerable amount of knowledge about databases and their components.

The standard registration files distributed with EBMS are the INRGTEMP database files. The fields within this file should not be changed. The following steps should be followed if the user wishes to create a new registration file or if the database file needs to be modified to accommodate the company’s needs.

1.    Copy the contents of the INRGTEMP.DBF, INRGTEMP.MDX, and INRGTEMP.DBT files to a new database name. The name of the new file must be prefixed with INRG and the database file extensions must remain the same. Make sure the location of the files continue to reside within the same drive and directory.

2.    Fields can be added to the database in any order. DO NOT CHANGE OR REMOVE THE FILES EXISTING FIELDS. Additional custom fields can be added to accommodate additional whole goods information. If the fields needed for one set of registered items differ from another set of registered items, additional registration files will need to be created.

3.    An additional program can edit the contents of the additional fields or a custom field tab can be added to the Added Costs dialog. Contact an EBMS consultant for more information or instructions in adding custom fields.

After the additional registration files have been created, they can be associated with one or more inventory items classified as Registered Whole Goods. See the Inventory > Registered Whole Goods > Creating a New Registered Whole Goods Item section for more details.
